1995
Munenori Arai began playing golf at the age of 16. He was the only person playing golf in Yokosuka city, where golf was considered an old man's sport at the time. He enrolled at Izawa Golf School operated by Toshimitsu Izawa, a Japanese Tour Champion. He trained hard to become a professional golfer.
1998
1998 Joined Sanki Co., Ltd.Munenori was employed at a precision parts manufacturing company owned byMunenori's father. There, he learned about the processing of precision parts while working to become a professional.
2000
Munenori aspired to become a professional golfer, but was unable to do so, he gave up that dream, left his father's company, and worked for a paint company to become a paint artist. There he learns the skills of painting.
2008
In 2008, he embarked on developing graphite shafts, focusing on fishing rod technology as a foundation for golf shafts. Straying from conventional designs, his expertise as a paint craftsman informed unique visuals. He identified a scarcity of lightweight, robust shafts, prompting a search for materials capable of enduring expansion and contraction. This pursuit yielded a player-friendly shaft, achieved through meticulous material selection.
2012
Research on graphite shafts for drivers was completed. Sale of the new shaft, Sanki Planaria, began. After 4 years of research and development, he completed the driver shaft. Normally, the shaft that matches the swing is selected by fitting However, the Sanki Planaria shaft is one where the flex point changes depending on the swing. The characteristic is that the movement of the shaft changes depending on the head speed and swing type. The Sanki Planaria shaft improves the head speed and ball speed for any player.
2018
Munenori established Arithree Co., Ltd.. The company was originally owned by his father; his older brother became president. He completed the development of steel shafts as well as graphite shafts. The characteristic of the steel shaft lies in the fact that it is all hand-decorated. This is different from other companies, which process the shafts with plating.
